Liquid Time II: A Wheel of History

During all its history the humankind has been trying to change or turn back the wheel of history. Fortunately or not, but nobody managed to do it in fact. In its time there were a number of scientific works and college term papers writing dedicated to the invention of time machine. The art people are also striving to the time manipulations. Liquid Time II was created in 1993.

It is a huge installation which basic element is “an upright iron wheel reaching a height of more than five meters and turning slowly above a long steel tank with water running through it” . In this way the contemporary water mill is described by the official site of Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, where the exhibition took part. But this mill has no practical use as it contains TV sets showing the cascading water instead of the 21 scoops. The whole structure contains approximately 100 elements. The biggest element of the water tank is also huge: 8 meters long and 4 meters wide. The whole metallic construction is moved by a strong electric engine with a gearbox. This construction deserved to be studied by free online essay writing on engineering too.

Fabrizio Plessi is the author of this breathtaking installation. He is a famous and experienced Italian author. He believes Tempo Liquido is his best work as he managed to combine here the ancient element, which is water, and contemporary video which serves as a symbol of our exited lives.
